    Joanna Pfaff-Czarnecka (born: 20 July 1956) is a university professor in the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University, Germany.[1] She is a former Pro-Vice-Rector at Bielefeld University and former Dean of the Faculty of Sociology at the University.[2] Early life and education Pfaff-Czarnecka was born in Warsaw, Poland to Janina (1932-2019) and Jerzy Czarnecki (1924-2007). The family moved to Switzerland in 1972.
